THE CORNERSTONE PROCESS FOR BUILDING YOUR NEW HOME
Pick your lot and select your floor plan
Your Cornerstone sales rep will assist you in selecting just the right building lot to build your home and which model home will best fit your needs as well the structural options available for the model you select.Earnest Money Deposit
10% of the purchase price (base price plus structural changes) is required to begin construction of your home. This deposit is due at signing of Agreement of Sale. Please consult our sales manager if you have any questions.
Applying for your Mortgage
You should apply for your mortgage at the same time you sign your Agreement of Sale. Our sales associates will help you if you are unfamiliar with the application process and can help direct you to several Mortgage representatives that can help fin you the best rates and programs.
Selecting options for our home
At the time you sign your Agreement of Sale, you will be asked to choose your house type, exterior elevation, and structural options. These options cannot be changed once the Agreement of Sale has been finalized, since we will be applying for a building permit to begin construction right away. However, all other options will be selected at the office with the assistance of our sales associates and those options need to be selected within 30 days of the date in which the Agreement of Sale is finalized At this time a 25% deposit on all additional options selected is due.
Pre-Construction Meeting
Once we are in possession of your building permit and are ready to begin construction, we will schedule a meeting at the office with you to review your floor plan, the options you have selected, explain the building process and answer any questions you might have.
Pre-Drywall Inspection
Prior to drywalling your home, we will once again schedule an on-site inspection of your home with our Project Manager to check to make sure all options are installed according to your contract and answer any questions you may have.
Pre-Settlement Inspection
At this point your new home is now complete. Our Warranty Supervisor will walk your new home with you to provide you with information on maintaining your home and document any issues or concerns you may want addressed prior to closing on your new Cornerstone Home.
